Five Open Plan High Schools. A Report.
Educational Facilities Labs., Inc., New York, NY.
To assist administrators in determining what they may need for their own districts, examples are offered of five high schools that operate open curriculums in open spaces. Photographs and floor plans illustrate each school's design, and the text relates the history of the educational program and community response to the open curriculum and open spaces. A separate section emphasizes the importance of retraining high school teachers in the use of open plan learning facilities and describes a program operated by the District of Columbia Public Schools for training those teachers entering open plan elementary schools.
