The Policy-Advocacy-Leadership column is developed to initiate and facilitate important dialogue about educational policy, occupational therapy practice, and to develop and share the knowledge, tools, and resources that enable occupational therapy practitioners to be effective advocates for their clients and profession. In this column, we discuss the need for the development of differential handwriting assessment and intervention approaches to address the unique factors that underlie handwriting difficulties and support student handwriting outcomes.
