Mathematics Curriculum. Kindergarten through Grade Twelve.
Fitchburg State Coll., MA. Dept. of Special Education.; Leominster School District, MA.
A collaborative effort among teachers, mathematics specialists, administrators, representatives from local industry, and college and university faculty produced the complete revision of the Leominster Public School System (Massachusetts) mathematics curriculum. This document provides an outline of the complete K-12 mathematics curriculum, including matrices that list the mathematics skills and concepts to be taught at each level. The curriculum is divided into six parts. These are: (1) the elementary (K-6) curriculum; (2) the junior high (7-8) curriculum; (3) the high school curriculum; (4) the consumer mathematics curriculum; (5) the college preparatory mathematics curriculum; and (6) the business mathematics curriculum. Each curriculum outline contains statements of goals, followed by student objectives. The objectives are coded, indicating to what extent each objective relates to the four skill levels used in the outline. These levels relate to the introduction, reinforcement, mastery, and evaluation of the skill involved. Each outline also includes the name of the textbook to be used along with a list of suggested resources. (TW)
