How to Enrich Geometry Using String Designs.
Pohl, Victoria
This book presents activities developed for grades 6-10 in creating string designs on polygons and polyhedra. They are designed for use as enrichment materials, each having step-by-step instructions and are arranged from easiest to most difficult, and marked accordingly. The pages are punched and perforated. Many activities are followed by related activities to encourage initiative and experimentation. Teacher notes indicate the appropriate grade level, the concepts being introduced, and skills required. Helpful hints and potential hazards are discussed. Figures include: (1) triangles; (2) squares; (3) pentagons; (4) hexagons; (5) tetrahedra; (6) octahedra; and (7) icosahedra. A bibliography is included. (JM)
