Energy Efficient Florida Educational Facilities. Improvements to a Portable Classroom in a Volusia County School.
Callahan, Michael P.; Parker, Danny S.
The Florida Department of Education is monitoring the energy use of two adjacent portable classrooms to compare their energy efficiency in a hot and humid climate and determine if they can be made more energy efficient either by retrofit or when the portables were constructed. This report provides the background of this research and describes the portable classroom's lighting, roofing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems; and discusses results and conclusions.
