Working with Handicapped and Disadvantaged Students in Vocational Education.
South Carolina State Dept. of Education, Columbia. Office of Vocational Education.
This handbook is intended for use by South Carolina vocational educators who are responsible for teaching special needs students who have been integrated into the regular vocational classes. It begins with a discussion of state standards and federal regulations dealing with handicapped and disadvantaged students. Information related to each of these conditions is presented according to the following format: description of the handicapping condition, unique needs of students with the handicapping condition, strategies for working with the handicapped student in a vocational education classroom, and an annotated bibliography of print and nonprint materials, resource organizations, and exemplary programs.
