Legal Standards of Conduct for Students and Residents: Implications for Health Professions Educators.
Butters, Janice M.; Strope, John L.
Academic Medicine, v71 n6 p583-90 Jun 1996
Case law concerning standards of care provided by health care practitioners in training is examined. Currently, medical students and residents are being held to the same standard of conduct as practicing professionals, and supervising faculty have a parallel duty to provide supervision to meet both that standard and legal requirements. Implications for medical school faculty and administration are explored. (MSE)
