The Effects of a Managed Care Educational Program on Faculty and Trainee Knowledge, Attitudes, and Behavioral Intentions.
Lazarus, Gerald S.; Foulke, Garrett; Bell, Robert A.; Siefkin, Allan D.; Keller, Keenan; Kravitz, Richard L.
Academic Medicine, v73 n10 p1107-13 Oct 1998
A study investigated outcomes of a University of California, Davis medical school two-day course on managed care on 428 medical students, residents, faculty, and physician-administrators. Results indicate that, before the course, baseline levels of knowledge were low among faculty and trainees, and attitudes combined negativism and wishful thinking. The course effectively increased knowledge and challenged selected attitudes. (Author/MSE)
