Business Ownership Curriculum Project for the Prevocational and Exploratory Level (Grades 7-9). Final Report.

A project designed to develop a business ownership and management curriculum to be used at the prevocational and exploratory grade levels (grades 7-9) is reported in four sections. Section 1 contains an overview of the project. Section 2 presents the procedures, which involved the establishment of the research concept and curriculum model, the literature search, the development of behavioral objectives, creation of the curriculum, development of ancillary materials, the pilot test, and revisions. Section 3 presents the evaluation findings by business owners and managers, students, and teachers. Section 4 contains a summary of the pilot-test results in business exploration classes in Arkansas. The remaining three-fourths of the document includes the following appended materials: the behavioral objectives; a list of the resource personnel; core curriculum materials; ancillary materials in reading, mathematics, and the ninth grade curriculum; and an annotated bibliography.
