This curriculum guide for career education for 11th- and 12th-grade students in Tennessee suggests learning activities correlated with the "Tennessee Career Guide: The Sky's the Limit" program and its related videotape. Together, the materials are designed to provide Tennessee's youth with resources for exploring options available in preparing them to be productive citizens in the next century. The organization and framework of this supplement are based on 11th- and 12th-grade language arts academic competencies required by the State of Tennessee Board of Education. Following a short introduction, the guide is organized in seven sections that include the following: (1) ideas and activities for 11th-grade students; (2) ideas and activities for 12th-grade students; (3) activities away from the classroom; (4) career education, the computer, and the future; (5) international activities; (6) job hunting; and (7) additional activities. Suggested activities are outlined with information on grade, strand, and section, correlated with instructional objectives and curriculum resources. Accompanying the resource guide is the "Tennessee Career Guide." Directed at students, the guide includes a list of Tennessee higher education institutions; occupational information; a career quiz; sources of financial aid; special programs such as cooperative education, apprenticeship, and services for disabled persons; job search information; and a discussion of military careers.
