Investigates the extent to which present Portuguese elementary school reform introduces fundamental changes in the discourses and competences it values. Finds that changes suggest an increasing valuation of the regulative dimension of learning. Points to a recontextualizing within the syllabi in the direction of blurring the changes observed.
