The purpose of this study was to determine the number of athletic training students who pursue teacher certification. Surveys of directors of 78 programs indicated that about 25% of expected graduates pursued teacher certification. The most common teacher certification subject was physical education. Students needed about an additional 1.6 semester hours to complete certification requirements. (SM)
