Seventy per cent of a random sample of 350 faculty of a small state university returned questionnaires revealing agreement on teaching as the most important faculty role, with character-building second, and research third. Results showed that first-grade children were less likely to follow a task-based fair-play rule than were third graders when one of the other children was larger and older.
