The report presents fall, 1988, admissions and enrollment data for New York State colleges and universities in 17 tables. Definitions of key terms precede the tables. Sample tables present the following information: (1) trends in degree-credit enrollment in public, independent and proprietary institutions by type of institution, fall 1970 to fall 1988; (2) degree credit enrollment by level of study, sector, and sex of student, fall 1988; (3) percent distribution of degree-credit enrollment by level of study; (4) first-time student degree-credit enrollment by sector; (5) degree-credit and noncredit enrollment by level of program and institutional classification; (6) degree-credit and non-credit enrollment by level of program and institution; (7) undergraduate degree-credit enrollment by institutional classification and year of study; (8) organized occupational degree-credit enrollment by major program area, year of study, attendance status, and sex of student; (9) trends in degree-credit enrollment by major subject area and level of study, fall 1986 to fall 1988; and (10) undergraduate applications received and accepted, and full-time students actually enrolled in class by institutional classification.
