Critical annotations of articles written in 1988 or 1989 and selected from "PSYCHSCAN: Clinical Psychology" are presented in this document. The annotations were written by college students in an undergraduate adolescent psychology class. The annotations are clustered under the following topics: (1) academics, including learning disabilities, sleep disturbances, restructuring middle schools, gender differences, and computers; (2) developmental issues, including coping skills, social relationships, effects of marital transitions, health care, and mental development; (3) psychopathology and assessment, including antisocial behavior, bulimia, depression, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; (4) sexual behavior and teenage pregnancy; (5) substance abuse; and (6) suicide, including etiology and prevention. Many of the annotations compare the article to material from the students' textbook. Thirty-five annotations are included. Each section has a brief summary of the issues surrounding the topic and general conclusions of the students. (ABL)
