Prekindergarten Teachers' Views about the Education of Language Minority Students.
Beckett, Amie Mitchel
Teacher Education and Practice, v13 n1 p64-75 Spr-Sum 1997
Preschool teachers from Texas school districts with high and low Hispanic populations completed surveys examining their knowledge and beliefs about early childhood bilingualism and developmentally appropriate practice. Positive beliefs about the use of native language to develop emergent cognitive-academic language proficiency through active learning were not clearly indicated in either group of teachers.
