Using the DSAP Framework to Guide Instructional Design and Technology Integration in BYOD Classrooms
Wasko, Christopher W.
Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education, v32 n3 p85-94 2016
The purpose of this study was to determine the suitability of the DSAP Framework to guide instructional design and technology integration for teachers piloting a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) initiative and to measure the impact the initiative had on the amount and type of technology used in pilot classrooms. Quantitative and qualitative data were collected using an anonymous presurvey and, after participants completed two trainings and began to implement BYOD in classrooms, an anonymous postsurvey. Study findings indicate teachers responded positively to using DSAP and would recommend the framework to colleagues. This study also found the BYOD initiative had a positive impact on student technology use in pilot classrooms, particularly in terms of smartphones and tablets.
