In an account of Carver's accomplishments, it is concluded that, "...not all of Carver's popularized ideas were either novel or commercially feasible... he did sketch broad guidelines for improving the agricultural plight of the South and worked to introduce new agricultural techniques, while with foresight, he heralded the development of certain synthetic products. His findings in the field of botony and bacteriology were unique and scholarly. (Author)
