This document contains a description of the Georgia High School Graduation Test in mathematics. The test item specifications, reflecting the Georgia State Quality Core Curriculum, are used by writers and reviewers who are responsible for the development of test items. Much of the content in the description is based on earlier test versions developed between 1994 and 1996. In its present form, the description includes the test content and the types of questions students will be expected to answer. Practical advice for test taking is also included. The test content description includes information for four areas: (1) Number and Computation (17 to 19% of the test); (2) Data Analysis (19 to 25%); (3) Measurement and Geometry (32-34% of the test); and (4) Algebra (28 to 30% of the test).
