Symptomatic Correlates of Alcohol Abuse as a Presenting Problem.
Scaturo, Douglas J.; LeSure, Kenneth B.
Journal of Clinical Psychology, v41 n1 p118-23 Jan 1985
Assessed the relationship of self-reported symptoms of psychopathology to self-reported alcohol abuse. Participants (N=72) completed a questionnaire. Findings identified several psychopathological areas related to alcohol abuse: social skill deficits, anxiety, addiction proneness, impulse discontrol, and self-destructive ideation. These results support a social learning theory of alcohol abuse. (BH)
