Diversity of Aspects on Play in Children with Profound Multiple Disabilities
Brodin, Jane
Early Child Development and Care, v175 n7-8 p635-646 Nov 2005
Research on the meaning of play accelerated in the 1980s, but play in children with profound multiple disabilities is a topic, that is not discussed very often in research. In this article, play in children with profound multiple disabilities is in focus. The aim is to highlight studies on play as a tool for learning and early stimulation, and for training of different functions, as these aspects seem to be of great interest in research today. The subject is of interest also with regard to the information and communication technologies where computers generally are seen as excellent tools for training and development of children with disabilities.
