Considering the Sociolinguistic Impact of Instability of Educational Philosophy on Reading Achievement of Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The purpose of this study was to consider the sociolinguistic impact of philosophical instability on reading comprehension achievement of students who are deaf and hard of hearing at a state school for the deaf. The research conducted examined the sociolinguistic impact by investigating the following: (1) what non-malleable factors influenced reading achievement in the target group, (2) what malleable factors influenced reading achievement in the target group, (3) what has been the sociolinguistic impact of philosophical instability on the reading comprehension levels of students in the target group. Evaluations of students reading achievement were obtained and analyses of malleable and non-malleable factors were considered. Strategic planning was recommended utilizing data-driven decisions.
