FITNESS SCAVENGER HUNTS for Middle School Students
Beighle, Aaron; Darst, Paul W.
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v17 n6 p13-15 Jul-Aug 2004
The field of physical education continues to shift from an emphasis on physical fitness to a focus on regular physical activity. Routines of the past such as jogging, push-ups, and sit-ups are now giving way to more thoughtful, creative routines designed to motivate students by making physical education more fun and diversified. Ranging from 7-10 minutes, these routines can be incorporated into all physical education units along with skill and/or sport competencies. In this article, the authors discuss several strategies for effective fitness routines for middle school students. (Contains 1 table.)
