Precision Teaching Project: Implementation Handbook. The Sacajawea Plan.
Beck, Ray; And Others
The implementation handbook provides information on screening, assessment, and remediation procedures utilizing the precision teaching method for children with learning deficits in both elementary and secondary schools. The first sections discuss the purpose, define terms, and specify materials needed. The section on classroom management includes the regular classroom, the resource room, and point system management (a technique for behavior modification). Screening and assessment, charting and decisions, and basic tool skills (those skills considered necessary for further skill development) are the topics of the next three sections. Curriculum areas in elementary regular classrooms and resource rooms, and secondary resource rooms are considered. Teacher and student motivation and attitudes are explored. Sample forms such as an individualized program sheet are appended. (PHR)
