Telecommunication for the Physically Handicapped.

The paper examines the uses of telecommunication for physically handicapped students. Basic equipment, including a modem and keyboard interface, are described. The types and uses of computer bulletin boards are also described. Among benefits of telecommunications for physically handicapped students noted in the paper are social prestige, accessible shopping and banking services, and an array of job opportunities. Information on accessing other systems is provided along with guidelines for operating bulletin board systems. The paper closes with a discussion of problems and solutions in implementing telecommunications offered by a high school class with physically handicapped students (CL)
