Energy Education Training Center--Feasibility Study.
Mead, George R.; And Others
Presented are findings and recommendations of a study conducted to determine the need for an Energy Education Training Center in the Columbia Plateau region of Oregon and Washington. Four sections comprise this report: (1) service area, (2) service population, (3) problem definition, and (4) proposed solution, the EETC. Information summarized in the first two sections relates primarily to energy conservation, energy technology, and the characteristics and needs of the rural poor who comprise a large portion of the study area's populace. Discussed in the next section are strategies for energy conservation and development with emphasis upon retrofitting and alternative energy sources. The proposed EETC's functions, educational programs, demonstration village and farm, and environmental research program are described in section four. This center is intended to bring energy conservation measures and technological innovations to the people of the study region. (WB)
