The Trend of "Quasi-Religiosity" among Krasnoiarsk College Students
Nemirovskii, V. G.; Starikov, P. A.
Russian Education and Society, v47 n4 p64-73 Apr 2005
This article is devoted to a study of the structure and dynamics of "quasi-religious" ideas in the everyday consciousness of Russian college students. What is meant by the term quasi-religiosity is a whole set of unsystematized ideas, the respondents' belief in idealistic concepts that are popular on the level of mass consciousness. The study's empirical basis was provided by a survey in 1999 and 2000 among college students in higher educational institutions of the city of Krasnoiarsk. The study was focused on an analysis of basic concepts of the meaning of life, in the context of potential immortality, socialdemographic, social-creative, religious, nihilistic, and consumerist conceptions.
