This document was prepared in Japanese with an English translation for the 1992 International Forum on Intercultural Exchange sponsored by the National Women's Education Centre of Japan. Discussions for 1992 were to center on the theme of development to make women visible. The conference agenda is followed by profiles of the presenters with some comments each provided to introduce their topics or remark on the overall conference theme. Resumes of the presentations submitted in advance of the conference include: (1) "Making Women Count" (Margaret Shields); (2) "Making Women Visible in Development: The Role of DAWN" (Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era)(Peggy Antrobus); (3) "Japanese Women in Rural Areas and Activities for Home Living Improvement" (Hiroko Tabe); (4)"Adolescent Health and Women in Central and South America" (Kiyoko Ikegami); (5) "UNESCAP and Women in Development" (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) (Hiroko Hashimoto); (6) "Empowering Women: The Questions of Gender and Class in Women's Effective Access to Land/Property" (Govind Kelkar); (7) "Human-Oriented Development: Theoretical and Practical Issues" (Thanh-Dam Truong); (8) "Tackling ODA from Women's Viewpoint" (Yumiko Tanaka); and (9) "Women in Development (Resume)" (Terumasa Akio). Also planned was a symposium titled "Let Us Join Our Hands towards Human-Oriented Global Community." (SLD)
