Intelligence, Personality, and Interests in the Career Choice Process.
Ackerman, Phillip L.; Beier, Margaret E.
Journal of Career Assessment, v11 n2 p205-18 May 2003
Research and metaanalyses suggest fundamental commonalities among measures of cognition, affect, and conation, yielding trait complexes that are differentially related to career choices and intellectual development. A counseling framework involves movement away from typological representations of vocational and avocational interests, capitalization on the commonalities, and integration of career choice with a concern for life span intellectual development.
