Personality Type and Learning Style: The Tie That Binds
Threeton, Mark D.; Walter, Richard A.; Evanoski, Daniel C.
Career and Technical Education Research, v38 n1 p39-55 2013
In an effort to provide further insight into the individual education needs of learners within the trade and industry sector of Career and Technical Education (CTE), the authors (a) sought to identify the predominant personality type and learning style distribution of postsecondary automotive technology students, as well as (b) evaluate whether there was a relationship between these measures. The findings revealed a relationship between personality type and learning style within a portion of the sample and highlighted a diverse group of learners with specific educational preferences within the automotive technology program. Findings may be useful to CTE teachers and teacher educators interested in diversifying curriculum and instruction via strategies to enhance the educational experience for the student learner.
