Parenting for High Potential, v7 n4 p24-26 Dec 2018
In India, parents play an important role in arranging and facilitating educational opportunities for their children, starting with the choice of school, arranging after-school classes, and sending them to various non-academic extracurricular classes. Most parents closely follow the academic performance of their children and willingly spend time and money to provide additional learning resources for them. Though many parents are highly active in their gifted children's schooling, many times these same parents put intense pressure on their children, often without meaning to. Most parents are, at most, only partially aware of the concept of a gifted child. This article presents advice to parents on parenting gifted children.
