The three papers in this Forum approach the challenges of global academic writing and publishing, together with the continuing dominance of particular knowledges, in different ways. Adisorn Juntrasook and James Burford begin their paper, "Three letters from [image omitted] (Thailand) on geopolitical inequalities and educational knowledge production," by writing a letter in Thai to their academic colleagues in Thailand, writing two further letters to readers in the Global North and the Global South to pronounce the unequal global politics of knowledge production. Astrid von Kotze identifies five shifts that need to take place in order to listen to different voices and perspectives, theories and ideas in her piece, "Writing in the interest of social justice." In "A European attempt to counter the Anglo-American hegemony in academic publishing," Danny Wildermeersch tackles the English language issue in a different, pragmatic way, by establishing a European journal that encourages authors to write in their first language.
