Over the last decade blog (a contraction of "web log") has crept into the national lexicon and culture, transforming the way people communicate. Although exact numbers are difficult to gather, the Web site "Technorati" is tracking more than 112.8 million blogs. Rarely far removed from technology; cell phones, iPods, Facebook pages, video games, and laptops, being "connected" is part of everyday life for today's students. Implementing blogging in the classroom is therefore an effective method to channel the technology interests of students while teaching geography. This article examines blog use in classrooms, its usefulness in geography education, and provides a blogging case study from the author's introductory-level university geography course.
