Factors and Strategies That Influence Faculty Involvement in Public Service
Holland, Barbara A.
Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement, v20 n1 p63-71 2016
Data from several national research and evaluation projects involving 32 diverse institutions offer insights into what motivates college-faculty involvement in public service and outreach efforts, what faculty find to be obstacles to involvement, and what institutions can do to facilitate involvement. One salient policy supporting faculty participation is consistency across institutional policies and priorities.
