Young People Found Pessimistic about Relations between the Races.
Collison, Michele N-K
Chronicle of Higher Education, v38 n29 pA1,32 Mar 25 1992
A telephone survey of 1,170 African-American, Hispanic, and white 15 to 24 year olds found 50 percent saw race relations as "generally bad." Whites and minorities differed on perceptions of racial discrimination and affirmative action. Results confirm college administrators' feelings that racial division and intolerance persist on campus. Groups agree on family and educational values and work ethic. (MSE)
