Trends in Higher Education
Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada
To meet the expectations of students, parents, communities, governments and businesses, Canadian universities will need to continue to plan strategically, manage proactively, deliver effectively and attract significant public support. Keeping these needs in mind, this edition of "Trends" provides not only a historical perspective and an overview of the current state of higher education in Canada, but also an assessment of the drivers of change and growth scenarios that are likely to impact Canadian universities over the next 10 years. The analysis is divided into five chapters (Enrollment, Faculty, Research, Finance and Knowledge Transfer) which cover the wide range of people, activities and services that characterize the Canadian university environment. (Contains 75 figures and 159 endnotes.)
