These materials were developed as part of Wisconsin's tech prep initiative. The 25-page report describes how approximately 500 secondary and postsecondary educators who would be responsible for the initial development, implementation, and assessment of the state's grade 11-14 integrated/applied curricula attended a 2-day training workshop in February 1994. Of those educators, 160 also participated in a 4-day conference in June 1994. Participants were also eligible to compete for minigrants allowing them to implement one or more of the integrated tasks developed during the workshops. Appendixes constituting over 90% of this document include the following: lists of project work team members, leaders, and activities; project agendas and evaluation survey forms; selected raw data; survey formats; project-related correspondence; action plan; and two packages of materials from the integrated and applied curricula workshop and summer conference. Each package includes the following: workshop/conference goals; objectives; activities; agendas; transparency masters; and newly and previously published materials focusing on Wisconsin learner goals and attributes, learner outcomes and development, development of authentic tasks, student assessment, team building, coalition building, cooperative learning, leadership, learning styles, the Developing a Curriculum (DACUM) process, child development, guidance counseling, mentoring, and school improvement.
