Information on enrollments, personnel, finances, and facilities in Washington's community colleges is provided for the four quarters of 1986-87. After introductory material, 1986-87 highlights, and a comparison of annualized full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollments by funding source, section I presents enrollment information related to student and course characteristics, including student headcount data by funding source, by college, by full-/part-time status, by sex and age, and by race; a summary of student characteristics; and annual FTE's by funding source. Section II focuses on personnel, including data on annualized FTE faculty by funding source, FTE faculty and administrative personnel by employment status and assignment area, and classified employee annualized FTE's by employment status and assignment area. Section III presents information on facilities and capital funding. Finally, section IV looks at finance, discussing expenditures by source of funds, costs per FTE student, full-time salary expenditures, and federal vocational funds allocations. Highlighted findings include the following: (1) the system served an average of 92,788 FTE students each quarter; (2) FTE enrollment in basic skills continued a 6-year pattern of increase; (3) system expenditures totalled $279,511,546 in 1986-87; and (4) 63% of all students enrolled in state- and contract-supported courses enrolled part-time. Appendices include data on student tuition and fees, additional historical enrollment information, and a list of statistical publications. (EJV)
