Intended for instructors, this handbook is to be used with "Thinking Critically" (Second Edition) and is divided into four sections. Part 1 (Using "Thinking Critically") is designed to give practical strategies for applying the material in "Thinking Critically." A summary of key ideas and terms for each chapter is provided as well as suggestions for teaching. Part 2 (Critical Thinking and Reading) is designed to provide suggestions for the instructor who uses the text in a reading class. Comments about reading skills, exercises, and prereading activities are included for each chapter. Part 3 (Critical Thinking and Writing) offers suggestions for teachers of basic writing and college composition, includes syllabi for 10- and 16-week semesters, and contains ideas for exercises.
