The purpose of this study was to explore transcultural self-efficacy in nursing education administrators/faculty and to gain understanding of confidence related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) issues. The 83-item Transcultural Self-Efficacy Tool (TSET) with an additional 11 LGBT questions was administered to 535 nursing education administrators/faculty employed at Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) nursing programs in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. Findings indicated that administrators scored higher than faculty in the affective subscale. Those 50 and older scored higher in the cognitive subscale. Three areas, receiving continuing education in transcultural nursing, LGBT education, and confidence discussing LGBT issues with the management team contributed to an increase in TSET scores within all three subscales (cognitive, practical and affective). There was a positive relationship between TSET results and confidence with providing nursing education related to LGBT issues.
