This unit is designed to introduce intermediate French language students to an important region of the French-speaking world--Africa. The unit provides the French language teacher with lesson plans and materials that are intended to reinforce French language skills, teach about African culture, and infuse global education skills and concepts. The included eight lessons are: (1) "Voici l'Afrique Francophone"; (2) "Realites: Les Influences Francaises en Afrique"; (3) "Un Juge (Niamey, Niger)"; (4) "Un Eleve (Kayes, Mali)"; (5) "A la Maison (Bamako, Mali)"; (6) "En Route (Dakar, Senegal)"; (7) "A la Poste (Libreville, Gabon); and (8) "En Ecoutant la Musique (Brazzaville, Congo)."
