Daily Physical Activity Survey Report
Alberta Education
The intent of the Daily Physical Activity (DPA) Survey was to gather school-level information from teachers and principals regarding their perceptions of DPA, thus providing a greater understanding of DPA implementation in grades 1 to 9. This study aimed to help identify the many variables that influence the attainment of the DPA outcomes and provide an opportunity for feedback on promising practices and challenges associated with the implementation of the DPA Initiative. The Survey results include information regarding resources and support, implementation, challenges, monitoring, and attitudes. This document contains recommendations pertaining to: (1) increasing the use of the DPA Handbook; (2) creation of DPA Booklets and Tip Sheets; (3) providing an opportunity for schools to share successful DPA implementation strategies; (4) exploring mentorship opportunities; and (5) developing a Healthy Schools Analysis Tool. Appended to this document are: (A) Responses to: "Please choose your school jurisdiction from the following list"; (B) Activity Chart; (C) Supplemental Tables; (D) DPA Online Survey (English); and (E) DPA Online Survey (French). (Contains 37 tables.) [This report was produced by Alberta Education, Accountability and Reporting Division.]
