Book Your Summer Vacation
Texley, Juliana
Science Scope, v35 n9 p20-22 Jul 2012
Summer's the time for teachers to travel, not only physically from the confines of the classroom to exotic places, but vicariously, through the magic of books. Summer adventures help teachers expand their experience and enrich their store of context so that they can offer their students more when school resumes in the fall. That's why each year the reviewers of NSTA Recommends come together to compile a summer reading list. NSTA Recommends has evaluated over 8,500 books in the past decade and recommended the best of those for classrooms. But in many ways, recommending reading for their fellow teachers is the most important and enjoyable task they do all year. In this article, NSTA Recommends reviewers present a summer reading list.
