Stave Off Summer Learning Loss with Do-at-Home Activities
Nikirk, Martin
Tech Directions, v71 n10 p16-17 May 2012
Many studies have shown that students lose some of what they learn during the school year over the summer months. Because the author strongly feels that his students need to keep working at their technical skills year-round, he encourages them to keep active with school-related activities until they return in the fall. In this article, the author describes some of the activities that he assigns for his particular area of study, with the thought that career and technical educators in many fields might want to design comparable activities to keep their students involved and advancing.
