Harjusola-Webb, S.; Parke Hubbell, S.; Bedesem, P.
Beyond Behavior, v21 n2 p29-36 Win 2012
Educating children with disabilities in community-based programs alongside children without disabilities is supported by professional organizations in early childhood education and early childhood special education (e.g., National Association for the Education of Young Children [NAEYC] and Division for Early Childhood [DEC]) in an effort to promote (a) access to a wide range of learning opportunities, activities, settings, and environments; (b) individualized accommodations and supports for optimal child participation; and (c) an infrastructure of systems-level support for teachers (NAEYC & DEC, 2009).
