The 2010 Professional Development Schools National Conference recognized the University of South Carolina's Professional Development School Network for its outstanding collaborative accomplishments, naming it as a recipient of the National Association for Professional Development School's Award for Exemplary Professional Development School Achievement. This article describes the work of this very special school-university partnership, focusing on how the collaboration is rooted in the "nine essentials" of Professional Development School work.
