Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock..."Good Management Begins with Good People"
Vicars, Dennis
Exchange: The Early Childhood Leaders' Magazine Since 1978, n201 p28-29 Sep-Oct 2011
Leaders are constantly being brought into situations they did not anticipate or telephone calls that extend well beyond the promised period. Directors' lives are a constant turmoil with daily challenges such as: staff illnesses, which create ratio problems; children with knee bruises, requiring ice and TLC; and don't forget the parents who require inordinate amounts of time, both morning and evening. In this article, the author proposes a different idea on how one views the time issues he/she faces in his/her busy leadership roles. Time, not unlike money, gets spent. Every day, the way one spends his/her time is the way he/she has chosen to spend his/her life. That concept of time made the author realize that he's the captain of his life and how his life is spent is his responsibility.
