How about Joining the All Attainment Group? It's Not that (Ab)Surd!
Jackson, Colin
Mathematics Teaching, n225 p3-4 Nov 2011
While hesitating to say that teachers are entering a new era for mathematics education, the author ventures that, on the basis of members' experience in the All Attainment Group, things are definitely looking up. For several years now the group has been bumping along with a quite small core group of active participants, but in the last twelve months or so, despite having lost a few formerly regular attendees, the number of mathematics teachers actively participating in the group has nearly doubled, and there are more younger teachers taking part. In this article the author briefly introduces one of the activities members have tried in their workshops this year. The activities they work on together are always suggested by members of the group and are extremely varied. The author introduces two teachers who report on work they undertook with one of the activities back in school.
