Retaining Latino Students: Culturally Responsive Instruction in Colleges and Universities
Pappamihiel, N. Eleni; Moreno, Marcio
Journal of Hispanic Higher Education, v10 n4 p331-344 Oct 2011
In this article the authors define and describe culturally responsive teaching (CRT) in college and university courses. Whereas, the Latino population in our K-12 schools has grown rapidly, we have not seen such growth in the population of Latino students in our postsecondary schools. It is the authors' position that CRT can be a tool in helping Latinos students be more successful in traditionally White dominated colleges and universities.
