Shoescapes
McDermott, Cathy
Arts & Activities, v149 n2 p30-31 Mar 2011
In this article, the author describes "The Shoescape Project." Each student begins by making a line drawing of their shoe, paying attention to every detail and the correct proportions. After the drawing of the shoe is complete, each student must create a landscape or environment for the shoe. This project is terrific on several different levels. It teaches students about realism and imagination within the same project. It requires few materials and can be done as a spur-of-the-moment project with little preparation.
